Diablo 3 has several multiplayer features like couch co-op split screen and it would be a bummer if you couldn’t enjoy them with your friends due to platform restrictions. Here’s everything to know about the cross-platform support in Diablo 3 on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Switch.
Diablo 4 is here, beating Diablo 3 to become the fastest-selling Blizzard game in history. The latest installment in the franchise has several new features like mounts, Altars of Lilith, and an open world, but it hasn’t stopped players from playing Diablo 3.
Diablo 3 will soon receive its final season following which the developers will turn their full attention to Diablo 4. It might be a good time for players to team up and recreate their favorite Diablo 3 moments.
However, will platform differences stop you from teaming up in Diablo 3? Here’s everything to know about the game’s crossplay support across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch.
Diablo 3 will end with Season 29.
Does Diablo 3 support crossplay?
No, Diablo 3 doesn’t support cross-play which means that you can only play with players on the same platform as you. For example, if you play on a PlayStation, you cannot join forces with players on PC, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch and vice versa.
Blizzard has also confirmed that it won’t add cross-play to Diablo 3. The first game in the series to get the feature was Diablo 4, and it’s unlikely for the developers to go through all that trouble for Diablo 3 which is on the verge of getting its final season.
Does Diablo 3 support cross-save & cross-progression?
No, Diablo 3 doesn’t allow players to save their progress across different platforms through cross-save. This means that if you are playing on PC, you cannot play the game on PlayStation without losing your stats, characters, loot, and builds.
Having said that, you can export and import a save between different console generations and some consoles also have cloud-saving features that might help you save your progress.
Similar to crossplay, it’s unlikely that we’ll ever see cross-save in Diablo 3 as the game has already gone through almost 30 seasons without the feature.
