However, the developers have made many changes that have turned Fallout 76 into a different game than when it launched, and players are wondering if that includes the addition of crossplay support across different platforms.

No, Fallout 76 is not currently cross-platform play or cross-gen, so you can’t hop into a game with your friends if they’re playing on a different platform. Since it’s not cross-gen, you also can’t play with your friend who has a PlayStation 4 if you own a PlayStation 5.

This may come as disappointing to some players, especially when other multiplayer titles like Fortnite and Apex Legends support crossplay. However, players that acquired the game through Xbox Game Pass are able to play with those who purchased Fallout 76 on Steam.

Fallout 76 does not feature cross-platform support.

Is there cross-progression in Fallout 76

Unfortunately, there is no cross-progression in Fallout 76, so players are unable to share their progress across platforms. This means that you’ll lose your progress if you switch from one platform to another when playing Fallout 76.
