Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players had many new features to explore, including the Tera Types and the Terastal Phenomenon. This mechanic added a new dynamic to Pokemon gameplay, especially in competitive online battling.

There’s no doubt that Pokemon with unique Tera Types are incredibly sought-after. Luckily, players have many Tera Raid Battle events to benefit from and catch rare Pokemon.

Let’s get into the upcoming Tera Raid Battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and how to take part in the Rillaboom Tera Raid Battle event.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Rillaboom Tera Raid event dates

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can tackle Rillaboom’s Tera Raid Battle event from August 4 at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET / 1 AM BST (August 5) to August 6 at 4:59 PM PT / 7:59 PM ET / 12:59 BST (August 7). Players already had a chance at this Tera Raid Battle between July 27 and July 29.

The 7-Star Tera Raid Battle features Rillaboom with the Normal Tera type. It has the Mightiest Mark, meaning players can only catch one per save file. This marks the debut of Rillaboom in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet the same way it did with other fan-favorite starters like Decidueye, Samurott, and Typhlosion. That means it might be featured in future events or become obtainable through other methods later.

Rillaboom with the Mightiest Mark is now appearing in black crystal Tera Raid Battles throughout #PokemonScarletViolet! Join your friends, and take on this formidable foe!

There are two types of Tera Raid Battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Standard Tera Raid Battles will appear as ordinary crystals as you approach the location in-game. Meanwhile, Black Tera Raid crystals indicate that the Pokemon is incredibly powerful. It could have unique moves and Abilities, which means better rewards are up for grabs.

Keep in mind that you can only catch one Black Crystal Tera Raid Pokemon per event. In addition, only players who have completed the three main story paths and The Way Home bonus quest will be able to access the Black Crystal Tera Raids.
