With the Mortal Kombat 1 reboot coming on September 19, 2023, fans want to know if the legendary fighting game will be added to the Steam Deck library. Here’s everything we know about MK1 coming to the Steam Deck.
Mortal Kombat is one of those iconic franchises that everybody wants to be able to play. Since NetherRealm announced the reboot alongside Mortal Kombat 1‘s release date, gamers have been asking if it’s coming to portable consoles, especially the Steam Deck.
However, the Steam Deck doesn’t have a great reputation when handling fighting games. Users have reported issues with all three modern Mortal Kombat titles, such as audio desynchronization, major problems when loading levels, and overall performance issues.
However, since the last Proton 8.0 update, players that have invested interest in Valve’s handheld console think that things will be different with Mortal Kombat 1 on the Steam Deck.
Is Mortal Kombat 1 going to be playable on Steam Deck?
Mortal Kombat 1 has been confirmed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Even though there hasn’t been any official confirmation, players are optimistic about Steam Deck compatibility since Valve recently added Street Fighter 6 to its library.
It has also been noted that the Steam Deck should be able to run Mortal Kombat 1 with its lowest settings and that it can handle the specs for its minimum requirements.
